Ten years and we’re still suffering for the wound suffered.
RIP.
Saying thank you is something to learn, this was the old motto that at least once in your life you’ve heard from your parents.
The problem is that too often in working life, “Thanking” becomes excessive and looses the original function of giving praise to someone for something given.
My colleagues too often say thank you for really not meaningful (and sometimes stupid things). An example? You call someone for something You need and he thanks you!
I believe a lot in give and receive praise and giving rewards to people.
I also believe in good behaviour.
But most of all I believe in being sincere.
So, learn to say thanks when really makes sense and is deserved and you will get more leadership on people and respect from them.
Yesterday Steve Jobs, one of the most influential persons of all times in tech resigned from Apple.
Many sites have launched the news and the question of what will be the future of Apple (and technology) without this guru (among them Matthew Humphries at geek.com, Tim Stevens at Engadget.com, Michael Trei at Dvice.com, Ken Mingis at Computerworld , Geeks are sexy.net, Betanews.com).
As I wrote many times, first of all the first sign of respect should be towards Steve Jobs’ health and privacy. From now own there will be no reasons to continue invading is life.
On a operational and leadership POV, Steve leaves a company solid and well ahead of other players (a study from this days says that Apple has leadership on tablet market at least for another 2 years).
This means Apple managers will have enough time to strengthen their position.
On a financial POV Apple can rely on the first (or second depends on times) value in stock market with over 320bln USD.
Overall I’m confident that Apple will continue in its market leadership and envisioning new ideas, despite the absence of Steve Jobs.

I came through a post, don’t remember where it comes from, stating 33 rules to be creative.
Despite the fact I’m convinced that apply rules to creativity is something that makes little sense and so I interpret this as a provocation.
I accept the provocation and interpret this list as a list for opening your (and mine) mind.
I tried to add my thoughts.
Of course You have to be clear on the definition of genius: if You mean as a genius someone with a IQ over the average, IMHO You can work hard, but is a talent that either You have or You don’t.
But if You move for a moment to a more significant definition of someone standing out of the crowd, then working hard producing lot of work,in part of good quality.
This gives the perception to others of someone delivering on an average more quality than others.
When You meet a person with whom You have a bad feeling, You can be lucky or unlucky.
If You are lucky You won’t have to deal with a dominant person, otherwise You should carefully choose your strategy in order to manage this relationship.
The most probable thing is that being adverse to a dominant person, will bring to an empowerment of this person and reinforce his dominance.
That is because adversing a dominant person, starts an empowering circle with this person and legitimates (either in a clear or a masked way) this specific behavior.
Is a matter of fact that conflict is often perceived as something bad by most of us.
Despite this, is something same well known that there’s a “good and a bad side” in everything, though it may be well hidden.
Could not be easy to ponder them, but they are there.
Bad side of conflict is that conflict puts stress on emotions (strong in a proportional way to the hardness of conflict). And despite the efforts to leave the conflict behind, emotions means an impact on yourself due to the fact that they highlight your interest on the conflict itself.
The issue is again on balance: if you tend to make “good and positive” emotions prevail You will have a boost to resolve the conflict, otherwise the conflict will burn you more energy and get more stress than really needed. But most of all we’ll be difficult to address the conflict.
Also in conflict You need to stay rational and maintain objective situation assessment skills.
Is not easy to carry on on a choice such as the one to keep on investing in nuclear when you fear the consequences of what is happening in Japan.
But governors should remain calm and not be dominated by feelings and moods.
I think we all should remain in the nuclear and keep on investing until we are not able to find renewable energies and make the existing one more safe.
In this moment I’m feeling like I’m having no thoughts at all. But at same time I realize I’m thinking.
Great paradox.
