Growing is one of the most complex things.
Because growth goes more on personal side than all other life aspects. And, unfortunately, is quite independent from our age: this means You can be old enough, but be unable to manage things because you neither had consolidated your experience nor You had not faced that situation before.
Growth is the results of many different items, but two are “the pillars”:
- change
- goals set and achieved
Change is an obvious one, because things need to be different to learn something new.
Goal is a little bit more tricky.
Assuming that growing is a key point in our life and that should be carefully managed, it is important to understand that growth passes through a precise goal setting.
Some tips:
- Goals should be enough high to represent a real challenge but at same time be potentially achievable: failing to do so, makes either frustration arise or let You focus only on challenge leaving You without time and power to consolidate knowledge
- Set sub goals to define the path to final destination
- Measure on going performance toward goals and learn during the journey instead then waiting the end
